His fourth novel – and first to be translated into English - Perfection (tr. He joins us for his only Aotearoa New Zealand appearance to discuss his novel that The New Yorker reviewer read in “a single hypnotized sitting”; Lauren Groff called “a jewel of a novel: precisely cut, intricately faceted, prismatically dazzling” and The Sunday Times Chief Literary critic hailed as: “one of the most brilliantly controlled works of social realism I’ve read in a while.”
